Education ruling
The Texas Supreme Court released its ruling on education funding today. At 117 pages, it will take a while to digest, but wanted to have the link online so everyone can have access.
Still wading through the ruling, but two of the main points were totally expected.
ReplyDeleteFirst, the funding mechanism for education in Texas is totally broken. Duct tape and bailing wire aren't going to fix it.
Second, throwing money at the problem will not fix the education system. We are going to have to get smarter in how we spend our education dollars.
We need finance reform, but we also need accountability and basic accounting reform. More soon
